Sozo Prayer Ministry – is it the real deal?

I first came across the term, “Sozo” while investigating a “personal prayer ministry” that had been set up at DC Metro Church in Washington, DC.

While my awareness of Sozo was new, the program itself is not and has been rapidly expanding through charismatic style fellowships for a number of years. As I began to ask questions about it, I started to face quite a lot of opposition and the suggestion that Sozo was godly and that to speak out against it would be to speak out against a move of God.

This I found troubling and the more I dug, the more alarmed I became at what I was discovering. Names like Dr. Ed Smith, Dr. Aiko Hormann, Bill Johnson and Bethel Church frequently popped up along with people like Agnes Sanford and John Wimber.
